From downtown San Diego, take the Trolley to East County, and within a few minutes youll arrive in Santee. Residents love Santee due to its family-based neighborhoods, award-winning schools and one of the lowest crime rates in the county.

Nestled between gently rolling hills and nearby lakes, Santee offers the comfortable convenience of urban living with the serenity of the country. Santee Lakes encompass over 190 acres, with picnicking, hiking, boating, fishing and camping on the lower lakes. Mission Trails Park encompasses 5,700 acres, and is the largest urban park in the U.S.

With approximately half of its land undeveloped, Santee is one of the few cities in the county with space to grow. Currently under development is RiverView at Santee, a master-planned mixed-use campus on 104 acres, designed for technology, R&D and professional office uses. The project is located directly across from the Transit Center, public amphitheater and food court in Trolley Square, currently the largest shopping area in Santee. Located along the south bank of the San Diego River, RiverView will be a key location that focuses on an amenity rich, employee friendly environment.

Santee has enjoyed San Diegos housing boom, and there are still plenty of new home developments underway, boasting condos, townhomes, attached and single family homes, and executive-style homes. Development is underway at Fanita Ranch, a master-planned community providing high quality recreation and residential living. Encompassing 2,600 acres in the northern area of Santee, 1,380 homes in four distinct villages will be built over the next seven to ten years. More than half of Fanita approximately 1,400 acreswill be permanently designated as an open space preserve with a trail system.
