The famous Belly Up Tavern calls the beautiful coastal community, Solana Beach, its home. The Belly Up is known for bringing great live music to San Diego. It has been named One of the hottest clubs on the West Coast, by Rolling Stone magazine as well as being voted, San Diegos Best Live Music Venue on several occasions by San Diego County residents.

The charming seaside community of Solana Beach has a mix of furniture galleries, unique, eclectic boutiques, art galleries, and surf shops. The Cedros Design District has 85 shops filled with fine art, Italian ceramics, sculptures, and unique, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, including mosaic tables. In addition, there are clothing boutiques that feature designer clothes as well as handmade pieces. Shoppers can also indulge their taste in fancy jewelry. The District is also where you will find live music and Solana Beachs Farmers Market, where you will find ripe, fresh, and juicy produce from the citys farmers.

Solana Beach is located right on the coast in the northern part San Diego County. It is known for its crashing surf along its bluffs making it popular with surfers and body boarders, but not perfectly suitable conditions for swimmers. Its temperatures are moderate, with winters in the mid 60s and summers in the low 70s. Though cloud and fog cover the city in the early morning and late evenings, it has clear, sunny skies on nearly every day of the year by late morning.

Sustaining and improving the environment is a major concern with the city. They take pride in their recycling program and heavily promote Coaster use, when possible. It is also illegal to use blowers, aimed at lowering both yard work noise and pollution within Solana Beachs limits.

Solana Beach has just over 13,000 residents in its 4 square miles. This is probably not just due to citys area, but also due to the fact only the very wealthy can afford to live here. The median household income is over $103K per year and the median priced home is well over $1M. However, it is the only city in San Diego County that has a less than 1% tax rate. Solana Beach is also within the highly-acclaimed San Dieguito Union High School District.
